The CLAT Merit List round II is out. By now, you must have checked out the CLAT  merit list 2022, released on 30th June. The merit list is available on CLAT’s official website – www.consortiumofnlus.ac.in

You can check out the seat allotment through the same website. The process is simple, and you must log in with your credentials once you have reached the website www.consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Seat Allotment of CLAT 2022

The seat allotment is as per the candidate’s merit rank. The priority list/preference list of universities the candidates had uploaded while setting a choice of universities is considered while assigning the seats. The process is similar to most other competitive exam counseling processes.

If you are willing to accept the seat allotment assigned to you according to your rank, then simply click on the admission process and complete the admission. The details of admission are also available on the website. If you are uncomfortable or unwilling to accept the seat allotment, you need to apply for an update.

Unlike other years, there is no rank list of CLAT for this year. Every year, the consortium of NLUs publishes a rank list or merit list on their website, showing the relative ranks of candidates. This year, every shortlisted candidate has been sent an email and a message to their registered mobile phone to inform them of their status on the CLAT merit list.

What to Do After You Have Downloaded the Merit List?

Each NLU associated with the consortium will release its individual shortlist for counseling within some time. In that list, they shall publish the names of the candidates and their roll numbers for CLAT. These candidates must report to the concerned NLU in person and complete the admission process.

As of now, you have to check the merit list and decide on whether you want an update for the seats or not. If you are satisfied with the NLU you have been allotted, you need to wait till the concerned NLU publishes a notice.

As you visit the merit list section for the NLUs individually, you will get the pdf of the merit list (UG and PG) on their website. The NLUSs have also mentioned opening and closing ranks for short-listed candidates. You will have to confirm whether you have been allotted the seats properly or not.

For example, if an NLU has published that the closing CLAT rank for its admission is 25003, that means if you have a higher position than that and have prioritized this NLU in your choice list, you must have been allotted a seat in this University. If not, you can report or apply for an update.

This information regarding opening and closing rank is more of cut-off detail to maintain transparency for the students regarding seat allotment. The seat allotment is strictly marked based on the preferences for NLUs marked by the candidates while filling out the forms.

Wrapping It Up

Do not get confused amidst the UG and PG CLAT merit list. Since both the lists are published at the same time, many students often get confused and click on the wrong link, only to end up panicking. Click on the correct link, and log in with your registered mobile number.

In case you do not remember your password, you can always reset the password and log in. If you do not want to participate in the upcoming counseling process, you can always withdraw from the counseling process. Students requesting an update or accepting the allotted seat will have to pay the fees within 2nd July at 5 p.m.
