Rajasthan APO Exam Pattern 2026 for Prelims

The preliminary exam is the first stage of the RPSC APO selection process. It is an objective-type examination, and there will be a negative marking of 1/3rd marks for every incorrect answer or multiple answers. Check the detailed RPSC APO exam pattern for prelims below:

Rajasthan APO Exam Pattern 2026 for Mains

Candidates who are declared successful in the prelims exam will be shortlisted for the RPSC APO Mains Exam.

Check the key pointers related to the written main examination below:

• It shall be mandatory to appear in every paper of the written test. 
• There shall be two papers in the mains exam: Paper I will consist of the Law Paper, whereas Paper II covers the Language section (General Hindi and General English).
• The law paper is designed to evaluate a candidate’s practical knowledge in criminal law and procedure, and framing charges in criminal cases. 
• The Law Paper carries 300 marks, and the Language Paper carries 100 marks. The maximum marks shall be 400.
• The standard of the paper-II will be that of the Senior Secondary level. 
• The minimum qualifying marks for each paper shall be 40% (5% relaxation for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes).

RPSC APO Marking Scheme 2026

Negative marking shall be applicable in the evaluation of answers in the prelims exam. For every wrong answer, 1/3rd of the marks prescribed for that specific question shall be deducted in the prelims. 

Each question will have 5 options in the prelims exam. If a candidate wants to skip the question or does not know the correct answer, they must select the 5th option to avoid negative marking. If none of the five circles is darkened, 1/3rd marks will be deducted.

After attempting the paper, the candidate must always confirm that they have marked one of the circles (bubbles) for every question in the prelims. An extra 10 minutes beyond the scheduled time is given for this. A candidate who has not marked any of the five circles in more than 10% questions shall be disqualified.

• 1 mark shall be awarded for every correct answer.
• Deduct 1/3rd mark for every wrong answer
• 1/3rd mark will also be deducted if none of the five circles is darkened.
