Model Code of Conduct (MCC)
Context
A petition in the Supreme Court of India alleges that the Prime Minister’s national broadcast during elections violated the MCC and the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
What is MCC?
- A set of guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India to regulate Political parties, Candidates and Government in power

India launched its first Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling system at the Choryasi toll plaza on NH-48 (Surat–Bharuch stretch, Gujarat).
What is MLFF (Barrier-less Tolling)?
- Vehicles do not stop at toll plazas
- Toll is deducted automatically while in motion eliminates congestion and waiting time

1. RFID-based FASTag
- Uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
- FASTag (on windscreen) enables automatic toll deduction
2. ANPR System
- Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras
- Captures vehicle registration numbers ensures compliance even without FASTag
