What Is AILET Exam?

The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is a national-level law entrance exam conducted every year by National Law University (NLU), Delhi. It is the only entrance test accepted for admission to BA LLB (Hons.) and LL.M. program offered by the university.

AILET is conducted exclusively for NLU Delhi. The UG exam tests candidates in English, Logical Reasoning, and Current Affairs & General Knowledge, while the PG exam focuses on core law subjects.

AILET Exam Dates 2027

AILET exam date 2027 is December 13, 2026 (Sunday). The dates have been announced officially by the authorities. The AILET admit card may be released in the last week of November 2026. The AILET result is expected on 20–21 December 2026.

AILET 2027 Notification: Eligibility Criteria for UG & PG

The AILET eligibility criteria differ for UG and PG admissions. BA LLB (Hons.) requires 45% marks for General candidates, while LL.M. requires 50%. There is no upper age limit or attempt limit. Class 12 and final-year LLB students can apply if they meet the required qualifying marks.

AILET Registration 2027

Candidates can fill out the AILET 2027 application form online through the official NLU Delhi website. The AILET registration process includes registration, filling out the application form, uploading documents, paying the fee, and submitting the final application. Upload a 20–50 KB photograph, a 10–20 KB signature, and a valid photo ID.

Registration	Register on the official portal using your name, email ID, and mobile number. Create a password and verify your email and mobile number.
Fill the Application Form	Log in and fill in your personal, academic, and category details. Select the course BA LLB (Hons.), LL.M. and preferred exam centre.
Upload Documents	Upload a passport-size photograph (20–50 KB), signature (10–20 KB), and a scanned copy of a valid photo ID, such as Aadhaar Card, Passport, or Voter ID.
Pay the Application Fee	Pay the fee online using a debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. General: ₹3,500. SC/ST/PwD: ₹1,500. SC/ST (BPL): Exempted from the fee. Save the payment receipt.
Submit the Application	Review all details, accept the declaration, submit the application, and download the confirmation page for future reference.

AILET Registration Fees

Based on previous trends, the AILET registration fee is ₹3,500. The fee must be paid online through UPI, net banking, debit card, or credit card.

AILET Exam Pattern

The AILET exam pattern for UG and PG differs in the number of questions, marks, and subjects. The UG exam has 150 MCQs, 150 marks, and 3 sections. The PG exam includes 100 MCQs for 100 marks from core law subjects. Both exams are conducted in offline (OMR-based) mode.
