Last 30 Days Preparation Strategy for CLAT 2027

You can divide the 1 month into four clear stages. Check the last 30-day CLAT preparation strategy below.

Preparation Stage Days Main Focus
Concept Revision Day 1-7 Revise important concepts and identify weak areas
Intensive Practice Day 8-15 Sectional questions, passage practice and topic-wise tests
Mock-Based Preparation Day 16-23 Full-length mocks, analysis and targeted revision
Final Revision Day 24-30 Current Affairs, formulas, errors, key concepts and exam strategy

The CLAT 30 days study plan should also follow a fixed daily structure. A candidate preparing for around 7-8 focused hours can divide the day into three major study blocks:

  • Block 1: Current Affairs/GK and Legal Reasoning
  • Block 2: English and Logical Reasoning
  • Block 3: Quantitative Techniques, sectional practice or CLAT mock analysis

CLAT 2027 One Month Study Plan: Week-Wise Strategy

A week-wise plan makes the last month easier because each week has a separate purpose. Check CLAT 30 days study plan below:

Week Days Area to Focus Action
Week 1: Build the Revision Base Days 1-7 Start by checking your current level in all five sections.
Take one diagnostic paper or sectional tests before making major changes to your routine.
  • Revise the core concepts of Legal Reasoning.
  • Practise reading comprehension and paragraph-based English questions.
  • Revise important Logical Reasoning concepts.
  • Cover the basic Quantitative Techniques formulas and calculations.
  • Organise CLAT Current Affairs and GK into manageable topics.
  • Maintain an error book to record the number of incorrect answers.
Week 2: Increase Question Practice Days 8-15 Move from concept revision to application. Solve questions under time limits.

Focus on the following areas:

  • Legal principle-based passages
  • Critical reasoning questions
  • Reading comprehension
  • Data interpretation sets
  • Percentage, ratio, averages and other frequently used calculations
  • Current Affairs and GK revision

Take sectional tests during this week. After every test, analyse your performance.

Week 3: Shift to Full-Length Mocks Days 16-23 The third week should match the actual examination environment. Start attempting full-length CLAT mocks at the same time slot as the exam wherever possible.

Track the following aspects:

  • Number of questions attempted
  • Correct answers
  • Incorrect answers
  • Questions left unattempted
  • Time spent on each section
  • Questions that consumed too much time
  • Topics responsible for repeated errors

The paper lasts 2 hours, so practise completing 120 questions within that limit. After each mock, spend enough time analysing the paper.

Week 4: Final Revision and Exam Readiness Days 24-30 The final week should be lighter on new learning and heavier on revision.

Focus on the following areas:

  • Current Affairs and GK notes
  • Legal concepts that need another revision
  • English vocabulary and grammar rules
  • Logical Reasoning errors
  • Quantitative formulas and calculations
  • Questions marked for revision in your error notebook
  • Previous mock mistakes

Avoid starting a completely new topic

How to Prepare for CLAT 2027 in 1 Month?

Candidates often search for how to prepare for CLAT 2027 in 30 days because the final month requires a different approach.

1. Follow a Daily Question Target

Set daily targets by section rather than studying only for a fixed hours. For example, a day can include a set of English passages, Legal Reasoning questions, Logical Reasoning practice, Quantitative questions and a Current Affairs revision session. Keep the target realistic enough to allow proper analysis.

2. Use an Error Notebook

Write down only useful mistakes. Include the question type, reason for the error and the correct approach.

For example:

Error Type What to Record
Conceptual Rule or concept that was misunderstood
Calculation Formula or calculation mistake
Reading Misread information or missed detail
Logic Incorrect assumption or inference

3. Practise With a Timer

CLAT has 120 questions to be attempted in 120 minutes. Timed practice matters in the last month. Do not wait until the final week to start solving questions against the clock. Begin with sectional time limits and gradually move to complete-paper practice.

4. Keep Current Affairs in Daily Revision

Current Affairs and GK account for around one-fourth of the paper, with an expected 28-32 questions. Give this section regular revision slots.

Organise your notes around areas such as government schemes, environment, science and technology, reports, economics, history, international relations and important national and international developments.

5. Track Accuracy, Not Just Attempts

Every incorrect answer carries a 0.25-mark penalty. So, blindly increasing attempts is not a useful target. After each test, calculate your accuracy and identify whether wrong answers come from rushed attempts, weak concepts, or misreading.

Check these CLAT revision tips to make your last-minute preparation more effective.

CLAT 2027 Section-Wise Preparation in the Last Month

The five CLAT sections require different methods. Your last-month strategy should therefore match each section’s nature and approximate weightage.

1. English Language

CLAT English section contributes around 22-26 questions, making up nearly 20% of the paper. Use the final month to practise passages of about 450 words and focus on these areas:

  • Main idea
  • Tone
  • Viewpoints
  • Inferences
  • Summary
  • Para jumbles
  • Para completion
  • Para summary

Vocabulary revision should include synonyms, antonyms, root words, homophones, idioms, analogies and one-word substitutions.

For grammar, revise parts of speech, tenses, modals, conditionals, phrasal verbs and determiners. You can also revise literary devices such as metaphors, similes, and personification through short practice questions.

2. Current Affairs and General Knowledge

Current Affairs and GK carry approximately 28-32 questions, or around 25% of the paper. Use separate revision buckets to strengthen the following areas:

  • Constitution of India
  • International Relations
  • Economics
  • Important current events
  • History
  • Art and Culture

For constitutional revision, cover areas such as the President, Vice President, Parliament, judiciary, constitutional and non-constitutional bodies, Centre-State relations and the election system.

For international affairs, revise India’s relations with other countries, international organisations, major disputes and foreign policy. Economics revision can include inflation, banking, Union Budget, national income, financial markets, economic organisations and important reports.

The final days should be used for repeated revision of your prepared notes rather than creating large new notebooks.

3. Legal Reasoning

CLAT Legal Reasoning will have 28-32 questions, accounting for about 25% of the paper. Use the last month to solidify your knowledge of the following topics:

  • Constitutional law
  • Contract law
  • Tort law
  • Criminal law
  • Family law
  • Evidence law
  • International law
  • Other legal topics

For Constitutional Law, revise Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles, Emergency provisions and constitutional doctrines.

Contract revision should cover offer, acceptance, consideration, capacity, breach and remedies. Tort preparation should include negligence, vicarious liability, defamation, nuisance and trespass.

For Criminal Law, revise important offences, criminal liability and available defences. Revise Family Law through marriage, divorce, inheritance, adoption, and maintenance-related concepts.

Do not restrict practice to reading legal concepts. Solve passage-based questions and check whether you are applying the given principle correctly.

4. Logical Reasoning

CLAT Logical Reasoning will contribute 22-26 questions, approximately 20% of the paper. Divide your practice into critical and analytical reasoning.

Critical Reasoning should cover the following topics:

  • Arguments
  • Assumptions
  • Inferences
  • Cause and effect
  • Strengthening arguments
  • Weakening arguments
  • Paradoxes

Analytical practice can include blood relations, directions, syllogisms, coding-decoding, seating arrangements, calendars and clocks.

Also practise course of action, flaws in reasoning and parallel reasoning. For every wrong answer, identify whether you misunderstood the argument or selected an option without checking the complete logic.

5. Quantitative Techniques

CLAT Quantitative Techniques has the smallest share, with 10-14 questions or around 10% of the paper. However, don’t ignore it, because these questions can contribute directly to your final score. Revise Class 10-level concepts and focus on these topics:

  • Squares and square roots
  • Cubes and cube roots
  • Fractions
  • Divisibility
  • Percentages
  • Ratios
  • Proportion
  • Averages
  • Ages
  • Profit and loss
  • Simple and compound interest
  • Time and work
  • Time, speed and distance
  • Mensuration
  • Data interpretation
  • Probability
  • Permutation and combination

Give priority to calculation speed. Practise tables, charts, graphs and caselets under a time limit. The final week should include a quick revision of formulas and common calculation methods.

Mock Test Strategy to Follow During CLAT Preparation in 1 Month

Mocks should become a major part of CLAT 2027 last month’s preparation. However, just taking more tests is not enough. Your target should be 8-10 full-length mocks during the last 30 days, along with sectional tests for weak areas.

Candidates who are already taking regular mocks can increase the frequency during the middle two weeks.

CLAT Preparation Period Mock Focus
Days 1-7 1 diagnostic/full mock + sectional tests
Days 8-15 2 full mocks + sectional practice
Days 16-23 3-4 full mocks
Days 24-30 2-3 full mocks with more revision between tests

After every mock, analyse your performance to identify weak areas and check where your CLAT preparation stands.

CLAT 2027 30-Day Timetable

A daily timetable should balance high-weightage sections with regular practice for all five areas.

Time Daily Task
7:00 AM – 8:00 AM Current Affairs and GK revision
8:00 AM – 9:00 AM Legal Reasoning
10:00 AM – 11:30 AM English/Reading Comprehension
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Logical Reasoning
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM Quantitative Techniques
5:00 PM – 6:00 PM Sectional questions/practice
7:00 PM – 8:00 PM Error analysis and revision
9:00 PM – 9:30 PM Quick Current Affairs revision

On mock-test days, replace the individual practice blocks with a 2-hour full-length paper and use a separate session for analysis. You can adjust the timings to fit your routine. What matters is maintaining daily coverage and leaving enough time to review mistakes.

CLAT 2027 Exam Day Strategy

CLAT 2027 will be conducted on December 6, 2026, between 2 PM and 4 PM. Your final CLAT exam day strategy should focus on execution, not learning new topics.

Before the Exam

Keep the final morning for light revision. Go through short Current Affairs notes, important formulas, vocabulary and your error list. Avoid tough practice sets right before you leave for the test centre.

During the Paper

The paper contains 120 questions across five areas, so time management matters from the first few minutes. Avoid spending excessive time on doubtful or challenging questions. Mark it for review if required and continue with the paper. Because of the 0.25-mark negative marking, read the options carefully before making uncertain attempts.

In the Final Minutes

Leave time to review marked questions and check whether you entered any answer incorrectly. Do not make unnecessary changes to answers unless you have identified a clear reason for changing them.
