1. Age Limit

A candidate must have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.) and enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council when applying for the Law Officer (Scale I) post.

4. Nationality

A candidate must be either – 

  • A Citizen of India or 
  • A subject of Nepal or 
  • A subject of Bhutan or 
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or 
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India,

The IBPS Law Officer application process involves multiple stages, such as registration, login, form filling, document uploading, fee payment, and final submission. Here is the step-by-step guide to complete the application without hassles.

  • Go to the official IBPS website, i.e. www.ibps.in 
  • On the homepage, click the “CRP SPL-XVI” link.
  • Next, click the “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CRP- SPECIALIST OFFICERS (CRP SPL-XVI)” link.
  • Now, select the “Click Here for New Registration” link.
  • Enter all required details such as name, mobile number, Email ID and other details to register successfully.
  • After that, you will see the provisional registration number and password on the screen.
  • Log in with your newly generated credentials to complete the application form.
  • Fill out the IBPS SO Law Officer application form with all the required details.

The IBPS law officer selection process is divided into three stages: prelims, mains, and interview. Check the complete details below:

  • Preliminary Exam: Candidates whose applications are found correct and valid will be called to appear in the preliminary exam. The preliminary exam comprises 100 questions carrying 125 marks.
  • Mains Exam: All the prelims-qualified candidates will be called to appear in the IBPS SO Mains exam. The maximum marks shall be 225.
  • Interview: The total marks for the interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates.
