Indian Army JAG Recruitment Through CLAT PG
Indian Army has invited applications from Law graduates for the grant of Short Service Commission for the Judge Advocate General Branch. All candidates applying for JAG Entry must get their CLAT PG result verified at the Selection Centre before the SSB.

1. Eligibility

Nationality
A candidate must either be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention to permanently settle in India
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 21 and 27 years old when applying for this post. The date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate on the date of submission of applications will only be accepted.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must obtain at least 55% aggregate marks in their LL.B. Degree (three years professional after graduation or five years after 10 plus 2 exam). In addition, a CLAT PG Score is mandatory for all candidates (including LL.M.-qualified and LL.M.-appearing candidates).
Candidates must be eligible for registration as an advocate with the Bar Council of India/State. Candidates must be from a College/university recognised by the Bar Council of India.
2. Selection Process
The Indian Army JAG selection process includes the following stages:
- Shortlisting of Applications: SSB shortlisting is based on the vacancy-to-call-up ratio.
- Selection of SSB Centre and Date: After shortlisting applications, candidates must select their SSB centre and date, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Conduct of SSB: Candidates will undergo a two-stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage-I will go to Stage-II. Those who fail in Stage-I will be returned on the same day, i.e., the 1st day. The SSB interview lasts five days.
- Joining Pre-Commission Training Academy (PCTA): Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will receive a joining letter for training in order of merit, based on available vacancies, subject to fulfilling all eligibility criteria.
- Merit List: The merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained at the SSB interview.
Salary
The stipend for Gentlemen or Lady Cadets during the entire training period at the Service Academy (OTA) will be ₹56,100 per month.
