NLSAT 2027 Notification: Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The NLSAT-LL.B. question paper has two parts, each carrying 75 marks. Although candidates must attempt both parts, the university follows a staged evaluation process to determine the final merit list.
| Exam component | Part A | Part B |
|---|---|---|
| Question format | Multiple-choice questions | Subjective questions |
| Maximum marks | 75 | 75 |
| Marks per question | 1 mark per question | Depends on the question |
| Evaluation stage | Initial screening | Second-stage evaluation |
| Role in final selection | Determines eligibility for Part B evaluation | Combined with Part A marks for the final rank list |
Part A: Objective Questions
Part A carries 75 marks and serves as the first stage of selection. Candidates receive one mark for each correct answer. A deduction of 0.25 marks applies to every incorrect answer and every unanswered question.
Candidates must score more than zero in Part A to be considered for the next stage. Among those meeting this condition, Part B answer scripts are assessed in a 1:5 ratio based on Part A performance. This means up to five candidates per available seat in a category qualify for Part B evaluation.
Part B: Subjective Questions
Part B carries 75 marks and includes subjective questions. Its evaluation is limited to candidates selected through the Part A screening process. The university prepares the final rank list using the combined marks from both parts.
