Will CLAT 2027 Application Deadline Be Extended?

As of now, there is no official update regarding an extension of the CLAT 2027 application deadline. The current schedule still lists October 31, 2026, as the final date to submit applications.

However, previous CLAT cycles show that the Consortium has extended registration deadlines after the original closing date. For instance, the CLAT 2026 deadline moved from October 31 to November 7, 2025. 

Therefore, an extension cannot be ruled out, but it cannot be treated as confirmed either. Candidates who have not completed the form should follow the existing schedule unless the Consortium announces a revised date.

Presently, the CLAT 2027 registration date has not been extended. Any change in the deadline would be communicated through an official notification. Candidates should also review their application details carefully before making the final payment.

Latest Changes in CLAT Application and Exam Centres

The Consortium has announced changes regarding exam centre cities and reservation categories for CLAT 2027.

1. Vellore and Tiruvarur are no longer part of the CLAT 2027 test centre cities. Applicants who opted for either city must choose an alternative test centre city within the deadline.

2. These changes also apply to candidates who applied under the Meghalaya domicile category. For both UG and PG programmes, the following categories have been added:

• Khasi & Jaintia of Meghalaya
• Garo of Meghalaya
• Other Scheduled Castes/Other Scheduled Tribes of Meghalaya

3. For West Bengal domicile candidates, OBC-A and OBC-B have been removed, while OBC of West Bengal has been added for both UG and PG.

What If You Miss the CLAT 2027 Application Deadline?

If the CLAT 2027 application deadline remains the same, candidates who fail to submit the form by the deadline may not be able to register unless the Consortium subsequently announces another opportunity.
