The Haryana Judiciary exam pattern 2026 includes an objective-type Preliminary exam, a subjective (narrative) Main Written Examination and a Viva-Voce round.

The prelims exam will be conducted on OMR sheets, featuring 125 multiple-choice questions, with each question carrying 4 marks. This brings the total marks to 500, and the exam duration for the prelims will be 2 hours.
The main written exam shall consist of 5 subjective/narrative papers, carrying 900 marks. Each written paper shall be of three hours' duration. The Viva-Voce round carries a total of 200 marks.

Stages in the Haryana Judiciary Exam Paper Pattern
The Haryana Judiciary selection process is divided into three stages: Preliminary Exam, Mains Written Exam, and Viva-Voce. You must clear all three stages to be eligible for the appointment for the post of Civil Judge.
- Preliminary Examination: This stage is conducted only for screening purposes. It comprises 125 objective-type questions. The exam duration will be 2 hours.
- Main Written Examination: The main written exam comprises 5 subjective/narrative type papers. It carries a total of 900 marks, and the test duration will be 3 hours for each paper.
- Viva-Voce: All the mains-qualified candidates will be shortlisted for the Viva-Voce round. It carries a total of 200 marks. The appearance in the viva-voce test is mandatory.

Haryana Judiciary Mains Exam Pattern 2026
If you qualify the preliminary exam, you will be called to appear in the Mains Written Exam. It comprises 5 written papers. The maximum marks shall be 900.
The main exam will be subjective/narrative type. It will be conducted in English Medium except for the language paper. Bare copies of legislative enactments only shall be supplied. Each written paper shall be of three hours’ duration.

Haryana Judiciary Exam Marking Scheme 2026
There will be negative marking for incorrect and unattempted questions. Check more details below:
- Each question will carry 4 marks.
- For every wrong answer, 0.8 marks, i.e. 20% (1/5th mark) shall be deducted.
- Each question shall have five options (A, B, C, D and E). If a candidate is attempting a question, he shall darken the appropriate circle. If not attempting a question, they shall darken ‘E’ (circle). If none of the five circles is darkened, one-fifth (0.8 mark) shall be deducted.
- Any candidate not darkening any of the five circles in more than 10% of the questions (13 questions) shall be disqualified.
