Neel Dhillon’s journey to securing AIR 81 in CLAT is a powerful example of discipline, adaptability, and courage. Coming from a demanding PCM background with school and tuitions consuming most of his day, Neel chose Law Prep’s online CLAT coaching and the Super 30 batch to make his preparation manageable.
Her journey began in Class 11, guided by a senior who introduced her to CLAT when she was still unsure about her career path.
What makes Neel’s story remarkable is how she balanced PCM, CLAT prep, and her wellbeing by setting clear priorities, waking up at 2 AM to study, and relying on consistency rather than intensity. His journey shows that with discipline and the right mentorship, online preparation can be just as effective as offline learning.

Interview of CLAT 2025 Topper: Neel Dhillon
LPT: Neel, congratulations! How does it feel, and how did your parents react?
Neel: It feels surreal. I’m thrilled but also a bit nervous. My parents are extremely proud and happy. It’s a mix of excitement and relief.
LPT: You prepared online and were part of the Super 30 batch. Why did you choose online mode?
Neel: Being a PCM student, my schedule was packed with school and tuitions. I had no time for offline classes. Online classes saved time, gave flexibility, and made preparation possible for me.
I started exploring CLAT in the middle of Class 11 after a senior guided me. Two months before CLAT 2024, I began reading newspapers for CLAT and giving mocks. After that exam, I prepared seriously for CLAT 2025.
LPT: Managing PCM with CLAT is extremely tough. How did you balance everything?
Neel: It was challenging. PCM needs consistent effort, you can’t study it overnight. My routine was:
- Attend school
- Read newspaper after school
- Go to tuitions
- Sleep early
- Wake up at 2 AM to study GK, LR, and Legal
I skipped English classes because that was already a strong section for me. Prioritization was crucial. Also, I refused to compromise on sleep — it was non-negotiable.
LPT: What advice do you have for CLAT aspirants preparing online or offline?
Neel:
- Be consistent
- Identify your strengths and weaknesses
- Create a priority list
- Don’t stress
- And above all: Don’t fear mocks — analyze them properly
Must Know for Every CLAT Aspirant:
LPT: How many mocks did you take during preparation?
Neel: A lot! Before CLAT 2024, I did 2–3 CLAT mocks per week.
For CLAT 2025, I started with one mock a week and increased frequency as needed.
LPT: What setbacks did you face and how did you deal with them?
Neel:
- School setbacks: Lower marks and attendance issues due to CLAT prep — very discouraging.
- Mock setbacks: Some mock scores made me cry, but my parents supported me unconditionally.
To overcome anything, I followed one rule: Sleep first, then analyze the mistake.
Sleep resets your mind and helps you think clearly. Talking to someone also helps.
LPT: What are the three keywords you want to pass on to future aspirants?
Neel:
✔ Consistency
✔ Discipline
✔ Don’t take stress
There are too many distractions today; discipline gives you an edge.
LPT: How did Law Prep help you in your journey?
Neel: Law Prep played a huge role:
- CLAT Mocks: High-quality mocks with varied difficulty levels helped me understand every possible exam scenario.
- CLAT Express: The best GK resource — engaging, comprehensive, and never boring.
- GK Marathons for CLAT: These sessions helped a lot, especially close to the exam.
LPT: What mistakes should aspirants avoid? And any exam-day advice?
Mistakes to avoid:
- Not analyzing mocks on the same day
- Being inconsistent in GK
- Using too many GK sources — stick to one
Exam-day tips: Stay calm, trust your preparation, sleep well, and don’t overthink.
