SLAT Selection Process for Symbiosis Law School Admnission
The admission process for Symbiosis Law Schools is two-stage: SLAT score → Personal Interaction (PI) → Merit list → Admission confirmation.
Step 1: Appear for the SLAT Exam
Students must attempt SLAT Test 1 or Test 2, or both. SIU considers the higher score for percentile calculation. The test contains 60 questions for 60 marks.
Step 2: Shortlisting for Personal Interaction (PI)
Based on the SLAT score, each Symbiosis Law School (Pune, Noida, Hyderabad, Nagpur) prepares its own shortlist. The shortlisting cut-off varies for every program and campus.
Step 3: Personal Interaction (PI) Round at Each Campus
Candidates must appear separately for PI for every program they applied to. The PI evaluates communication skills, reasoning ability, confidence, and legal awareness. Candidates absent for even one component become ineligible for admission.
Step 4: Merit List Preparation
Every campus calculates the final merit using the formula:
SLAT (Scaled to 70) + PI (30) = 100 Marks
A combined merit list, wait list, and reject list are generated separately for each campus.
Step 5: Offer of Admission (Provisional)
Selected candidates receive the provisional admission letter through the SLS website and email. Admission is confirmed only after:
- Document verification
- Payment of full fees
- Satisfying eligibility conditions
Step 6: Wait List Movement
Vacant seats are filled from the wait list based on score and category.
Step 7: Final Confirmation of Seat
Admission becomes final only after fee payment within the deadline. All admissions are subject to SIU rules and verification.
