LPT: Yash, congratulations! How are you feeling after getting into NLSIU Bangalore?
Yash: Thank you, sir! It feels excellent. Getting into the best college is a dream come true. I genuinely couldn’t have asked for anything more.
LPT: Many aspirants start with the same doubts. What message would you like to give them before we begin?
Yash: CLAT is a beautiful journey if you approach it with the right mindset. Stay consistent, work sincerely, and don’t overcomplicate things. Anyone can clear CLAT if the effort is steady.
LPT: Mock score fluctuations trouble almost every student. How did you handle this?
Yash: Scores will always fluctuate—that’s normal. Mine fluctuated a lot too.
The best way to handle this is mock analysis. Treat mocks as practice, not a final performance.
After every mock, I checked:
- Where did I go wrong?
- Why did I choose the wrong option?
- How can I improve this particular mistake next time?
Marks don’t jump overnight. But with consistent analysis, you will see progress.
Must Know for Every CLAT Aspirant:
LPT: Students try to read UPSC, Drishti, multiple compilations, and more. What is the correct way to prepare GK?
Yash: I think every student struggles with GK at some point, and I was no exception.
What students must understand is:
- Mock GK is also your GK.
- Mocks are not just for testing; they teach you new information.
I tried preparing like UPSC aspirants for a few days but realised it wasn’t ideal for CLAT.
So I limited my sources to:
- CLAT study material
- CLAT Express
- Faculty notes
- Newspapers
The fewer your GK sources, the more confident you feel.
LPT: Were you preparing along with school or doing a dedicated drop-year preparation?
Yash: I prepared along with school.
LPT: Many school-going students struggle with time. What worked for you?
Yash: It definitely takes effort. But you must prioritise.
In my case:
✔ I gave more importance to CLAT
✔ During school exams, I added extra study time for boards
✔ Before CLAT, for 3–4 months, CLAT was my main focus
Students should understand that boards can be managed later. Right now, CLAT needs priority.
LPT: Any mindset advice for aspirants—especially those who overthink?
Yash: Stay calm. Don’t panic. Work hard consistently and trust the process. Overthinking never helps—balance, composure, and steady learning do.
