The counselling registration fee is mandatory to enter the admission process and is adjusted against the total course fee if a seat is allotted. The provisional admission fee must be paid after selection to lock the seat. Payments are accepted only online through the AILET portal.

AILET counselling is the official admission process conducted to allot NLU Delhi seats in the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme based on AILET ranks. After the results are declared, shortlisted candidates are invited to register online for the counselling process.

During this process, students pay the counselling fee, upload required documents, and wait for merit lists. If selected, they must confirm their seat by paying the provisional admission fee within the deadline. Counselling happens in multiple rounds to fill all seats.

Registration or rank alone does not guarantee admission unless all steps are completed on time.

NLU Delhi invites approximately three times the number of available seats in each category for AILET 2026 counselling. With 120 total seats, around 360 candidates are invited category-wise.

Being invited means eligibility to participate, not confirmation of a seat. Final admission depends strictly on merit, category cut-offs, and timely completion of all counselling steps.

Below is how the AILET counselling works:

Step 1: Counselling Invitation

Candidates are invited based on AILET 2026 merit in a 3:1 ratio. Invitations appear on the AILET login dashboard and are also shared via registered email or SMS.

Step 2: Online Counselling Registration

Invited candidates must log in and complete online counselling registration within the deadline. Registration is incomplete without successful fee payment.

Step 3: Payment of Counselling Fee

Candidates pay the category-wise counselling fee online. Late or failed payments are not accepted under any circumstances.

Step 4: Uploading Documents

Applicants must upload all required documents in a single self-attested PDF. Incorrect or missing documents can lead to disqualification.

Step 5: Release of Merit Lists

NLU Delhi releases category-wise provisional merit lists. Registration does not ensure selection unless the candidate appears in a merit list.

Step 6: Provisional Admission Confirmation

Selected candidates pay ₹50,000, download the offer letter, sign it, and upload the required undertakings to confirm their seat.

AILET Counselling Process

There will a maximum of 4 rounds in AILET counselling process 2026:
