Some journeys are not defined by perfect preparation, but by how courageously you rise after a setback — and Shreshthi Bhandari, AIR 33 in AILET 2025, is the perfect example.
While her entire year was focused on CLAT, she found herself heartbroken after the CLAT results. Yet, within just a week, she gathered herself, rebuilt her focus, and delivered one of her best performances in AILET — securing an All India Rank of 33 at NLU Delhi.
In this conversation, she reveals the emotional challenges between CLAT and AILET, how she managed panic during CLAT but stayed unbelievably calm during AILET, how GK unexpectedly became her strongest section, and why she believes skipping AILET is one of the biggest mistakes aspirants make.
Her story shows that mindset on the day of the exam is just as important as preparation throughout the year.

Interview With AILET 2025 AIR 33 – Shreshthi Bhandari
Law Prep: Congratulations, Shreshthi! What rank did you secure in AILET 2025?
Shreshthi: Thank you! I secured AIR 33 in the AILET 2025 exam.
Law Prep: Was AILET always part of your plan, or were you mainly focused on CLAT?
Shreshthi: My entire preparation was for CLAT. AILET always felt unrealistic because there are very low seats. I did study for it, but without expectations. But destiny works in surprising ways!
Law Prep: CLAT results impacted many students mentally. How did you manage the shock and still give your best in AILET?
Shreshthi: It wasn’t confidence — it was determination. My CLAT rank wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t what I wanted. I was heartbroken. But AILET was my last chance for NLU Delhi, so I forced myself to stay focused.
Law Prep: Were you panicking during AILET, considering your CLAT experience?
Shreshthi: Not at all. AILET was the opposite of CLAT for me. On CLAT day, I hardly slept, was extremely nervous, overthought everything, and got stuck in GK.
On AILET day, I was calm, had zero expectations, and read every question properly. That made all the difference.
Law Prep: GK was crucial in AILET this year. How did you prepare?
Shreshthi: A day before AILET, I revised major topics — CLAT Express notes, newspaper notes, and important topics. I couldn’t revise the last few notes because CLAT results came out. But earlier consistency saved me. GK ended up being my strongest section.
Law Prep: Students often skip AILET. Is that a mistake?
Shreshthi: Yes, a huge mistake!
CLAT didn’t go as I hoped, but AILET worked out beautifully. Your mindset on exam day can change everything. You should never skip AILET — you never know which exam will favour you.

Law Prep: How did you handle the emotional stress in the week between the two exams?
Shreshthi: Monday–Wednesday: I did nothing. I cried a lot.
Thursday–Saturday: Intense revision. AILET was my only path to NLU Delhi.
That goal kept me going.
Law Prep: What message would you give to students who didn’t do well in CLAT?
Shreshthi: Your hard work never goes to waste. One exam doesn’t define how smart you are.
If CLAT doesn’t work out, you still have:
- AILET
- SLAT
- MHCET Law
- Other top law entrance exams
Stay consistent. Your breakthrough will come.
Law Prep: How was Reading Comprehension?
Shreshthi: I thought it was going badly while writing the exam. Later, I realised it was moderate. If you practise enough modules and mocks, RC becomes manageable.
Law Prep: How did you improve reading speed?
Shreshthi:
- Daily newspaper reading
- CLAT mock tests
- Practising timed sections
- Not overdoing sectionals
- Reading more automatically makes you faster.

Law Prep: Should students balance preparation for CLAT and AILET?
Shreshthi: Yes. CLAT should get more focus, but AILET should never be ignored. AR practice helps both exams.
Law Prep: What final message would you give to future CLAT aspirants?
Shreshthi: Mental strength is 50% of CLAT.
Even with great preparation, panic can ruin your paper. Stay calm and composed. Those two hours matter the most.
