Yashvi Rajpurohit AIR-8 AILET 2025

Yashvi Rajpurohit, AIR-8 AILET 2025 (From NEET to Law)

Very few students have the courage to walk away from a path they’ve followed for years, especially something as demanding as NEET preparation. Yashvi Rajpurohit, AIR 8 in AILET 2025, not only made that bold decision but also proved that choosing what truly aligns with your interest can transform your life.

Originally preparing for medicine for over a year and a half, Yashvi eventually realised her heart was in law. She took the leap, joined Law Prep Tutorial, and within months earned a single-digit rank in one of the toughest law entrance exams in India.

In this exclusive conversation, she shares her journey of switching fields, rebuilding reading habits, handling CR and Analytical Reasoning, scoring below 5000 in CLAT, and still bouncing back with AIR 8 in AILET. Her story is proof that clarity, discipline, and the right guidance can completely change your direction – no matter where you start.

Yashvi Rajpurohit is from Jodhpur and comes from a family rooted in medicine. Even though she felt drawn toward law from the beginning of Class 11, circumstances led her to continue with NEET preparation for nearly two years. Over time, she realised that while she understood the NEET syllabus, her interest simply wasn’t there.

After deep introspection, she made the courageous decision to switch to law — a move that aligned with her strengths, curiosity, and personality.

Once she joined Law Prep Tutorial’s CLAT coaching in Jodhpur, she adapted quickly, built strong reading habits, worked on CR under guidance, and started understanding the exam pattern deeply.

Her journey from struggling with long passages to securing AIR 8 showcases her determination and adaptability. Today, as she steps into NLU Delhi, she represents the growing number of students who choose passion over pressure.

Law Prep: You prepared for NEET for 1.5 years. Tell us about that journey before switching to law.

Yashvi: I always wanted to pursue law, even at the start of Class 11, but due to circumstances, I continued with NEET. I understood the syllabus, but my interest wasn’t there. Eventually, I couldn’t convince myself. Switching to law changed everything.

Law Prep: How did your parents react when you decided to leave NEET?

Yashvi: Initially, they hesitated. My father is a doctor, so naturally, he wanted the same for me. But once I explained how unhappy and disconnected I felt, they supported me completely.

My father said, “Do what makes you happy.”

That meant a lot.

Law Prep: How different was NEET compared to CLAT/AILET?

Yashvi: Very different.

NEET is theory-heavy and mostly memorisation-based.

CLAT/AILET require awareness, reading, vocabulary, and critical thinking.

Reading newspapers and watching classes by Swatantrata Sir helped me adjust quickly.

Law Prep: Which section was the toughest for you?

Yashvi: Critical Reasoning. Coming from NEET, I wasn’t used to long passages. Identifying assumptions, arguments, and inferences was challenging. Consistent practice and Megha Ma’am’s guidance helped me improve tremendously.

Law Prep: You scored below 5000 in CLAT. How did that affect you before AILET?

Yashvi: It was a shock. My confidence dropped. But AILET felt manageable. I had zero expectations. When I casually opened the result and saw AIR 8, I screamed and ran downstairs. My mom thought I saw a rat. Her reaction was unforgettable!

Law Prep: AILET scares students because of limited seats. What’s your advice?

Yashvi

  • Focus heavily on Logical Reasoning – 70 questions come from LR.
  • Build strong English and vocabulary. AILET asks deep vocab-based questions.
  • Use LOOP word lists and revise them often.
  • Practise Analytical Reasoning daily – blood relations and seating arrangements can give easy marks.
  • For CR, CLAT-level prep is enough.

Law Prep: How many hours did you study daily?

Yashvi: Around 10 hours on most days, but I focused more on consistency than the exact number of hours.

Law Prep: How did you avoid distractions like phones and social media?

Yashvi: I used social media but very consciously. What motivated me was imagining myself walking inside NLU Delhi someday – that vision kept me disciplined.

Law Prep: What role did reading play in your preparation?

Yashvi: A huge role. I’ve always loved reading – fiction, classics, Hindi, English, everything. It strengthened my vocabulary, comprehension, and confidence. My favourite book is Sapiens – it shaped my thinking.

Law Prep: What are your plans after law school?

Yashvi: I want to explore everything Delhi offers. I feel inclined toward judiciary and also the Indian Foreign Services, as many relatives are serving officers. Corporate law interests me less, but I’m still exploring.

Law Prep: How much did Law Prep Tutorial contribute to your success?

Yashvi: More than I can explain. The support wasn’t just academic – I received emotional support throughout my journey. Every mentor played a crucial role.

Law Prep: Your message for NEET aspirants who might not be interested in medicine?

Yashvi: NEET is wonderful if you enjoy medicine. But if you feel disconnected, explore other options. Law has enormous opportunities – judiciary, litigation, academia, corporate, foreign services, and more. Try CLAT mock tests and check if law excites you. Your interest should come first.
