AIR 47 CLAT 2026

Chhavi Poplani (AIR-47, CLAT 2026): Anxiety to Achievement

Securing AIR 47 in CLAT 2026 and performing strongly in AILET, Chhavi Poplani’s journey stands out for its honesty, emotional depth, and unwavering trust in the preparation process. A student of Law Prep Tutorial’s Foundation Batch, Chhavi prepared for law entrances over a long period, building discipline, consistency, and mental strength step by step.

Her story is not about perfection—it is about persistence during fear, especially on exam day, when pressure peaked and emotions took over. Guided by the words and mentorship of her teachers, the CLAT topper Chhavi regained control in the most critical moments and finished the paper with composure.

With a clear long-term vision of becoming an international lawyer and, eventually, a judge of the Supreme Court of India, Chhavi Poplani represents a generation of aspirants who prepare not just for an exam, but for a purpose.

This interview captures her mindset, preparation strategy, and the lessons she believes truly decide ranks in CLAT.

Upcoming CLAT Exams:

LPT: Chhavi, many congratulations on your exceptional performance in CLAT and AILET. How are you feeling right now?

Chhavi: Thank you so much, sir. I’m feeling really good. All the hard work I put in, along with my teachers’ efforts, has finally paid off. I had been manifesting this result throughout the year, and seeing it come true feels amazing.

LPT: You were part of the Foundation batch and prepared over a long period. How did you stay motivated throughout this journey?

Chhavi: My motivation mainly came from my teachers, mentors, and my parents. Whenever I felt demotivated, I reached out to my mentors. I even used to call Anupama Ma’am. She always motivated me and pushed me to keep going. Their constant support made a huge difference.

LPT: Why did you choose law as a career? What attracted you to this profession?

Chhavi: I genuinely feel that this profession suits my personality. I always felt inclined towards law and connected to it. Also, there are several lawyers in my family, so I had early exposure to this field. That familiarity made my decision clearer.

LPT: NLSIU Bangalore was your first preference, right?

Chhavi: Yes, NLSIU Bangalore was always my first choice.

LPT: During the exam, you experienced extreme nervousness and even broke down emotionally. Can you tell us what happened?

Chhavi: Two days before the exam, Anupama Ma’am sent me an audio note saying that if I ever went blank during the exam, I should remember the hard work I had put in throughout the year. Teachers had repeatedly told us that everything comes down to those two crucial hours.

During the exam, I struggled with a passage in Analytical Reasoning. I felt that if I lost those seven marks, everything would go wrong. That panic overwhelmed me, and I started crying. But then I reminded myself of my teachers’ words, calmed myself down, and continued solving the paper.

LPT: That takes immense courage. What do you want to become in the long run?

Chhavi: I have a very clear vision. After completing my five-year law degree, I want to pursue an LLM and become an international lawyer. Later in life, I aspire to become a judge of the Supreme Court of India.

LPT: Do you plan to take judiciary exams or focus on litigation first?

Chhavi: I want to go into litigation first. I don’t want to prepare for judiciary exams immediately. Litigation is the foundation of the legal profession, and I want to build my career from there.

LPT: Litigation is demanding in the early years. What made you choose this path?

Chhavi: I know the initial five to ten years are very difficult. But litigation is rewarding in the long run and opens many doors. That challenge excites me rather than scares me.

LPT: Let’s talk about preparation. What was your study routine like?

Chhavi: I believed that even on days when I felt demotivated, I had to study at least a little. General Knowledge was non-negotiable for me; it had to be done every single day because GK is the real rank-decider.

I studied five to six hours daily, consistently. My teachers advised me to study two subjects on alternate days while continuing GK daily. The key was never neglecting any subject.

LPT: How did Law Prep Tutorial contribute to your success?

Chhavi: Law Prep Tutorial played a massive role. I relied completely on LPT’s CLAT study material and CLAT mock tests. I didn’t attempt any CLAT mocks from other institutes.

The variety and difficulty level of Law Prep’s mocks matched the actual exam perfectly. Teachers were extremely supportive. Even during my emotional breakdown in the exam hall, their words kept echoing in my mind: “Control yourself in those two hours.” That mindset helped me perform well.

LPT: What advice would you give to future CLAT aspirants?

Chhavi: My biggest advice is to follow your teachers blindly. Initially, you might not understand their instructions, but over time, everything makes sense.

Revise GK regularly. Revise legal concepts thoroughly. Teachers have years of experience and have guided countless students to top NLUs. Trust them, keep your preparation simple, and stay consistent.
