What is 5th Allotment List of CLAT 2026?
The final or fifth seat allotment list of CLAT 2026 represents the outcome of the last counselling round. It is prepared after adjusting all vacancies arising from exits, withdrawals, and non-confirmations in earlier rounds.
This list officially concludes the centralised counselling process, meaning no further seat movement or upgrades are possible after this stage. Candidates allotted a seat here must compulsorily Freeze to accept admission.
Those who are not allotted a seat in this round do not get any further chance through CLAT counselling and must rely on alternative admission options or future attempts.

How to Check CLAT 2026 5th Merit List?
Step 1: Visit the Official CLAT Counselling Website
Go to the official CLAT counselling portal where all allotment lists and notices are published by the Consortium.
Step 2: Open the Final Allotment List Notification
Click the notification titled “Fifth (Final) Allotment List – CLAT 2026” to access NLU-wise PDF links.
Step 3: Download the Relevant NLU PDF
Open the PDF of your preferred NLU and use Ctrl + F to search your CLAT roll number.
Step 4: Verify All Details Carefully
Check roll number, All India Rank, vertical category, horizontal reservation, and allotted NLU mentioned in the PDF.
Step 5: Check Email and SMS Alerts
Selected candidates also receive official email and SMS notifications, but portal verification is mandatory.
Step 6: Login to Your CLAT Account
Log in to your CLAT portal to view the allotment notification, download the allotment letter, and choose Freeze or Exit within the deadline.
Understanding Your CLAT 2026 Fifth Merit List Status
The CLAT 2026 fifth allotment list is the final outcome of centralised counselling conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities. At this stage, there are only two possible situations. Your response now determines your admission outcome.
If You’re Allotted a Seat
If your name appears in the final merit list of CLAT 2026, it means you have secured a seat through central counselling. This allotment is final and cannot be upgraded further. To accept admission, you must Freeze the seat and pay the confirmation fee within the deadline.
There is no Float option in this round. Once frozen, you must complete the remaining admission formalities and pay the university fee directly to the allotted NLU.
Missing the deadline leads to automatic cancellation, and the seat will not be offered again.
If You’re Not Allotted a Seat
If your name does not appear in the CLAT 2026 fifth allotment list, the centralised counselling process ends for you. No further allotment lists will be released by the Consortium.
This does not end your chances of studying law for the year, but it does mean you must now rely on alternative options such as other law entrance exams, institutional vacancy rounds, private universities, or a planned reattempt. Waiting further without action can result in losing the academic year.
Freeze and Exit Options in Final Allotment Round of CLAT 2026
Freeze Option (Mandatory to Accept the Seat)
The Freeze option is compulsory if you want to accept the seat allotted in the fifth round. By freezing, you confirm admission and exit the counselling process permanently. You must pay the non-refundable confirmation fee within the given time window.
After freezing, you are required to pay the remaining university fee and follow the reporting and verification instructions issued by the allotted NLU. Freeze offers certainty and should be chosen immediately if you intend to join the allotted college.
Exit Option
The Exit option is for candidates who do not wish to accept the seat allotted in the final round. Once you exit, your seat is cancelled and offered to another candidate through institutional processes, if applicable.
You will not be considered for any further CLAT counselling. Refund of the counselling registration fee depends on the official refund rules and the timing of exit. Exit should be chosen only after evaluating all other admission options.

What to Do After Getting a Seat in the 5th Allotment?
Freeze the Seat Immediately
Log in to your CLAT account, select Freeze, and confirm acceptance within the given deadline. Delays can result in automatic cancellation.
Pay the Confirmation Fee
Complete the confirmation fee payment to lock your admission. Without payment, the seat is not secured.
Prepare for University Fee & Reporting
Check the allotted NLU’s website for instructions related to university fee payment, reporting dates, and admission formalities.
Keep Documents Ready for Verification
Ensure all academic and category documents are correct and readily available. Any discrepancy can lead to cancellation at the university level.
