The Ministry of Women and Child Development recently highlighted legal, institutional, and financial measures aimed at strengthening women’s safety across India.

- As per National Crime Records Bureau (2023): 4,48,211 cases of crimes against women reported (Nearly 51 FIRs every hour)

-Cruelty by husband/relatives – 29.8%

-Assault to outrage modesty – 18.7% - Around 81 rape cases daily (~1 every 18 minutes)
2. Global Standing
- India ranks 128th out of 177 countries in the Women Peace and Security Index 2023.
3. Human Trafficking
- Cases under the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act 1956 increased by 44.7% (2022–23).
